Internal Martial Arts
Taiji & QiGong
What is Taiji?
Taiji (pronounced tie-jee) is a category of Qigong & traditionally a Chinese style of self-defense. It combines relaxed, integrated slow movement, focused awareness, breathing, and internal vital energy (Qi) to improve one's balance, flexibility, & promote health and wellness. Taiji Is an excellent form of exercise for mature adults, although it can be practiced at any age, any place, and at anytime. All Traditional Chinese Medicine, including Qigong & Taiji, is based on the principle that good health results from the balance of Qi flow, a concept of Yin & Yang. An imbalance or obstruction of this flow results in health problems. Emphasis of correct body posture, alignment, relaxation, and slow coordinated body movements with breath work help maintain a balanced, unblocked flow of energy. By regulating the internal energies, the body's organic functions are brought into balance. To try these fascinating arts, inquire about our on-going classes! What is QiGong?
